Free topic - the importance of drinking water

We know water is good for us , but with other drinks so readily available,  it's hard to make decision to choose water. There are many reasons why it is important to drink water.

Water can give us energy . Our body is mae up mostly of water and it loses water throughout the day. Therefore,  we have to replace it for our body to work effectively,  particularly the heart and the digestive system.

When we are properly hydrated,  our blood is thinner and easier to pump. Studies have shown that people who drink plenty of water have fewer heart problems.

If our skin looks tired and unhealthy,  so do we . Staying properly hydrated  removes all the toxins that build up in our skin and helps prevent it from dying out . If we want beautiful skin, we should keep ourselves hydrated by drinking plenty of water

Free- my preparation for my final examination

The Final Examination are just a couple of months away. It is important that I do well. So I shall have to prepare for it. In other words I need to revise and study what I have learned through the year.First of all I have to prepare a time-table of study so that I can divide my time properly to the various subjects. I shall have to devote more time to the subjects I am not so good at.
I shall have two study periods a day, one from three to four in the afternoon and the other from seven to nine in the evening. I cannot study all the time for my mind will not be able to cope with it. So I must have some time to indulge in  games and other forms of recreation. Then I can return to my studies with renewed vigor.
I am not very good in History. So I have to spend more time with it. This subject require memorizing of many facts. In order that I remember the facts I need to do a lot of reading. Only then the facts will remain in my head. Also I need to read attentively or the facts will tend to be forgotten quickly.
Other subjects require less memorizing. So I am all right with them. I only have to keep in touch with them and I should pass without any problem.Hope I can get good results for my exam.

The changes my country has experienced from 9.5.2018 till today

After GE14, our former PRIME MISTER DATO SERI NAJIB BIN RAZAK had accepted the result and admit that PAKATAN HARAPAN has won the GE14 this year. Most of the Malaysian are very happy.Exactly two months ago on 9th May 2018, Malaysia saw a change of government. The Pakatan Harapan spin-machine is trying to make us believe that finally, after 61 years, Malaysia has managed to remove a corrupt and autocratic government. This, of course, is a lie because every man and his dog know that Malaysia began to go downhill soon after Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad took over as Prime Minister in 1981 and after Anwar Ibrahim joined him as his partner-in-crime in 1982. So, even if it is true that Malaysia was a most corrupt and autocratic country until 9th May 2018, it was so for only 37 years and not for 61 years as the Pakatan Harapan spin-machine is alleging. The  Economist weighed in on Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's "second act", a reference to his return as head of government after his first tenure of 22 years from 1981 to 2003.In an opinion piece, The Economist dubbed PH's win in the 14th General Election (GE14) in which it ended Barisan Nasional's (BN) 61 years of rule, as something that surprised the Dr Mahathir-led coalition itself. The defeat of incumbent Prime Minister Najib Razak and his party, the United Malays National Organization (UMNO), on May 9 was unexpected and unprecedented in Malaysian history. Our women leaders are amazing. Dr Wan Azizah. Nurul Izzah. Hannah Yeoh. Maria Chin. All these women and more, are our country new ministers.Tun DR MAHATHIR MOHAMAD has made a few promises before the election day. He had abolished the GOODS AND SERVICES TAX(GST). Secondly, he wants to stabilise the price of the petrol.Besides, he have stopped some projects that will affect our country economies.  Dr Mahathir has promised to give the job within two years to Anwar Ibrahim, a former UMNO colleague who was locked up both by Dr Mahathir and by Mr Najib on spurious sodomy charges. Mr Anwar was freed from prison shortly after the election and leads the most prominent party in the coalition, Parti Keadilan Rakyat. More recently, Dr Mahathir has said that letting Mr Anwar take over after two years was only “a suggestion”. But if he does step down in the proposed time frame, Dr Mahathir does not have long to enact the policies he cares about.

free topic-Haze

The haze is a constant phenomenon faced by Malaysia and it  neighbouring countries. The haze is basically pollution of atmosphere, which is clogged with pollutants and other substances from forest fires.

The haze is a direct effect of forest fire in Kalimantan and other parts of Indonesia due to slash and burn method of farming. The Indonesian authorities appear to have no power to control farmers from practising such methods. The haze is further worsened by open burning practised by most Malaysians. Open-field burning of rice straw by the rice planters and open burning of dried leaves and garbage done by the public are a few examples that done by Malaysian. Many are ignorant of the health effects of open burning.

During the haze, hospitals and clinic often report a dramatic increase in respiratory problems, lung infections and asthma attack. The Air Pollution Index (API) usually indicates the hazardous and dangerous levels of pollution during this period. The haze has long-term side effects. Prolonged inhalation of polluted air will result in serious lung infection which particularly affects the elderly.

The government must play its role to reduce the haze treat. It has to cooperate with the Indonesian authorities to stamp out forest fires. The culprits must be brought to justice, either through healthy fine or prison sentence. Constant vigilance would ensure the perpetrators do not repeat their offence.

The government should also raise the public awareness of the dangers of forest fire. Continuous campaign of the cause, solutions and steps-need-to-be-taken to reduce the haze need to be promoted through all types of social media like television, radio, newspaper and even via internet. The authorities should also provide assistance to farmers and introduce more sophisticated forest clearing methods.

In Malaysia, strict laws must be imposed to penalise those who practise open burning. On-going campaigns on the dangers of open burning should be intensified. Individuals too have a role to play. They must participate in every campaign and stop burning. Students can advise their parents not to practice open burning.

Every individual has to remember that we do not own the world, but instead we lent it from our future generations. We must protect our world so that our grandchildren would have a healthy earth to live.

free topic - the importance of studying english

It is a big concerned for teenagers nowadays as they are unaware of the importance of English language as they tend to ignore to learn the language. Students’ attitude towards the language is also crucial to make sure that these teenagers can face the future world better by learning English language as it is an international language.

Although the government has repeatedly told us of the importance of English, many students are still not bothered about studying it seriously. There is also a campaign that still on to make all the Malaysian becomes a better English learner, which is ‘Enhance Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, Strengthen the English’. English is the most important and the most useful language in the world today. There are many reasons why you should study the language properly.

First and foremost, English will definitely help you a lot when you want to further studies. Almost all books at university are written in English in all subjects. Plus, it is a compulsory for any candidate to pass English with credit before entering any universities. So, if you are poor in English, you will blow you chance for better education or worse, you are going to have a big problem studying at university.  The second reason why you have to study English well is that it will help you to get a job. When you go for a job interview, the interviewer will surely talk to you in English. The first impression you should give in order to success and have the job is, to respond in English fluently. Your chances of getting the job are very slim if you stutter while interviewing.

Good English will also help you a lot when you travel. Every country in the world studies English. Even the roadside stall-holders in China speak fairly good English! At least some of the people you meet on your travels in other countries can understand English. The language is certainly practical when you are lost in your trip. Communication problem will not happen if you can converse well in English. Inevitably, English is one of the languages used in any airport in the world in making announcement. Knowing English well, therefore, make travelling overseas easier.

Besides all these, entertainment is one of the major advantages you will experience if you good in English. You will enjoy television’s best programmes. We must admit that many of the best programmes are produced by the Americans and British companies. High self confidence influenced by the programmes will indirect inculcate in yourself when you are fluent in the language. Quality time is worthily spent if you understand and enjoy the programmes.

A good command in of English will also help you greatly in your job. If the company you work is actively involved in international trade, you have to speak to prospective customers in English. Miscommunication might occur if your English is bad. And this will put your company at risk and you will likely be dismissed if this happen.

In a nutshell, I hope that students will see the importance and realise how importance the language is for their own future. Although it is a second language in our country, it is now a main language all over the world.

Ladies should not accept job that take them far from home excessively

Ladies should not accept job that take them far from home excessively. It is very dangerous. They have to wale up early and prepare to work because the place is far from their homes'. Besides, they can't get back so early . maybe they are stuck in a traffic jam for two hours  and it is very dangerous for a woman to get back home alone at night. When she comes home though, she still has to cook a meal and clean up the house. She still has to supervise the children's homework or get them ready for bed. On the other hand, when her husband comes home from work, he can sit in front of an interesting television and relax while his wife gets dinner ready.

Today, things have changed rapidly. Today, I am glad and honoured to say that woman are on an equal footing with men. Woman have equal rights. They have equal education. They can choose to do anything as long as they the qualifications. They can become the rocket scientists or politicians. they can become doctors or accountants or teachers. The sky is the limit.

However , the same can't be said for woman all over the world. In many parts of Asia, Africa and Middle East, women have no rights. They have little education. In some communities, the men don't even allow the girls to go to school. They are married off at an young age.

In short, a woman gets equal opportunities at the workplace but still has to maintain her other ' job ' as a housekeeper. She has to be a professional, a housewife, housekeeper, care- giver and mother all at the same time. This is true in many families.Woman should choose a place that is very near to their house' or  be the housewives and homemakers.

Academic day in school

It was another boring Friday.  The 15th of July 2018 was known by DJians as Hari Akademik, which is an event held annually when parents of respective students are invited for a meeting with teachers. At 7:30 in the morning , Academic day began. Parents and their children walked into the school , greeted politely by prefects. Chairs were arranged along the corridors by students. Parents sat outside the classrooms waiting their turn to meet their children's teachers. meanwhile , many students were anxious, pressured by their parents' presence. Others hoped their parents' were happy with their results'. My parents do not want to come on that day because they can check my results online. So, i felt boring on that day. I decided to help teachers welcome the parents. The parents spoke with the class teacher or mentor, studying the school report cards and records together. Every question was finally answered with satisfaction. The parents made their way home , talking with their relieved children, awaiting the beginning of the holidays.

Free topic --- friendship

Friendship is the relationship between friends. We make friends all our lives from the time we are small right up to old age. Friends are special and different from family.  We can't choose our family.  They are chosen for us when we are born, but we can certainly choose our friends.

We make friends for many reasons. One reason is to have company. When we have friends, we feel less lonely.  There is company to talk to, play with or share things with. Children constantly seek out their friends to play games with.
Teenagers seek out their friends to talk to or hang around with them. Our friends are usually of our same age so they understand our feelings, experiences, dreams, hopes and fears. This is why it is easier to talk to them than our parents. From my experience, it's perfectly true that teenagers can talk for hours with their friends on the telephone and yet give just one-word answer to their parents.  Old people find it difficult to make new friends because they are set in their ways. This is why many old folks feel lonely.
Real friends are like jewels. They never fade away in times of trouble.  They are loyal and true. They are present in both good and bad times. They have our interests in their hearts. For example, false friends tell us what we want to hear. However , real friends tell us the truth . When we are going along the wrong path,  they warn us. They advise us and sometimes they quarrel with us. These quarrels never
last because the reason for them is always care and concern . Real friends like these must be kept and treasured like gems.

A mementous moment in the history of Malaysia

Malaysia's election was just ended a few days ago.  Tun Dr Mahadir has become our seventh prime minister.  He was our fourth prime minister last time. His party (pakatan harapan ) had won most of the seats in Malaysia.  Total sites they won is 112. Their opponent 'barisan nasional had lost with a total number of 79. Most of the Malaysian were very happy and excited. Tun Dr Mahadir is already 93 years old. He is the oldest Malaysian prime minister.  He still fought for justice and rights. In the end , he won. Dato seri Najib ,our sixth minister had accepted the results from the election. He had resigned his role as the presiden of Barisan National as well as the presiden of UMNO .  Tun Dr Mahadir has blocked Najib and his family from going overseas.  Tun Dr Mahadir has selected five important people as our council of eminent.  One of them is Robert Kuok . He is the richest man in Malaysia. He can help and stable our Malaysia economy . Now Tun Dr Mahadir is announcing the ministers.  Wan Azizah is our deputy minister , Muyudin is our minister of home affairs, Lim Guan Eng is our financial minister and Dato seri Sabu is our defence minister. This election will be recorded in our Malaysia history because this is the first time Barisan National lost and Pakatan Harapan first victory. I'm proud to be Malaysian.
As teenagers, we often are not taken seriously by authority. We are held hostage by the assumption we are troublemakers and can do no good. That is quite a stereotype because teenagers are the next generation. They will be controlling and running the world someday. It might not be in the exact mindset they have right now, but the ideas are all coming from an identical area and viewpoint.

In my opinion,  I think that the teenagers would be very lazy in the future. For a start, computers will be everywhere and they will do everything for the teenagers.  They won't be alarm clock in their bedroom. A picture in their bedroom will be a computer screen and it will wake them up and say hello.

As they wake up to eat breakfast, they will walk into the kitchen  and the toaster and they will recognise their's voice and automatically make them breakfast. Their's computer will remind them to do homework. They won't need a rucksack because all the text books will be digital and they'll all be on one e-reader. This will cause the teenagers become not discipline . Besides , in school on top of the desk will become computer screen . They will touch the screen to the Internet and do their assessment.

My first ULBS for English.

What is ULBS? ULBS is defined as Ujian Lisan Berasaskan Sekolah.  In english ,ULBS is known as oral test. ULBS is very important to us because it involves to our SPM next year.

Last month, our English teacher has given us a task. We have to prepare a presentation on our favourite storybook. My favourite storybook is  " Scream Street ". Scream Street is a horror storybook. It is about a boy who is a werewolf trying to resort peace at the place he lives to.  Our English teacher madam Monica has given us one week to prepare our presentation. My friends were  nervous when they were doing their presentation. But they did well on their presentation.  When it was my turn to present,I was nervous as this is my first ULBS for English. After I have presented my storybook, my heartbeat  has became as usual .We have finished our first ULBS in two weeks. We have a second ULBS on July . The purpose of our first ULBS is to encourage us on reading and the importance of reading. I hope I can get  high marks for my ULBS as I have done my best to present my storybook.

Staying fit and healthy

Keeping fit has become a great concern of the government's in recent years. Many people have neglected their health.  The obesity level in our country is increasing rapidly. There are many ways can be done to stay fit and healthy.

First and foremost, keeping fit can be done by exercising regularly. For people who like to do so by themselves, there are so many ways to keeping fit. From brisk walking to running to playing squash ,the loner has a good variety of exercises to choose from. For those who prefer the company of family or friends, they can choose from a wide array of games like badminton, football and so on. It makes our life become more enjoyable as one has a friend or family member to talk to while exercising.

Food and lifestyle also play an important role. It is no point exercising when you carry on with your bad habits like smoking, drug abuse or keeping yourself unhealthy.  The optimumain performance of the body cannot be reached if the lungs are choked by cigarette smoke.

Keeping fit requires a great deal of discipline and willpower. We must remember that the benefits of keeping fit and healthy so that we weren't waste time watching television at home.

Kem Membaca

Kem Membaca was held on 12th of April 2018.  The purpose of organising this camp is to encourage students the benefits of reading books. Madam Monica, our English teacher has divided our class into 10 groups. I was in a group with brandon.  But he was absent on that day. Madam Monica wants us to present a story book or a novel to our juniors. I went 2 cengal to present my story book. The name of my story book is scream Street. 2 cengal is the "worst" class in our school.  Many students in 2 cengal are very annoying and childish.  They don't respect each other. They keep talking when I was presenting my storybook.  They asled many nonsense questions. After I have presented my storybook, they still ask me questions. I just ignored them and went out of the class. I have wasted almost 25 minutes in that class because they keep delaying my time. After that, I went back to my class and continue study.

What I learned about how my efforts will contribute to my exam marks

Actually I didn't take my first exam in school. I was absent because I went to a badminton tournament in Terengganu. I was absent for one week. But many of my friends said the exams  were really hard especially additional mathematics.  Most of my classmates failed add math, only two person in our class passed. Apart from that, many people also failed computer science.  They were very sad and disappointed. Besides, zhe wei gets number one in our class. He is a hardworking boy. He passed his computer science. He deserves to be the number one in our class. He put many efforts on studies. His efforts have contributed to his exam marks. He was so happy when he got number one .

While preparing, presenting and after presenting my group sketch

1)       Last Friday, my group presented a sketch in the class. To be honest, we didn't present the sketch well. This is because we were not well-prepared.Although we have a group chat in whatsapp but still we could not make it to the best . We should be more hardworking and more cooperative in order to have a good presentation.

2)    The title of the story is leaving,  written by M.G.Vassanji. The story was took place in Africa. The main characters of this story are Aloo, mother and the narrator. The lesson in the story was we must always show love to our family. For example, mother was a loving woman.  She refused to remarry for the sake of her children.  She was also selfless. This was shown when she gave up her shop in Uhuru Street.

A holiday in Cameron Highlands with my family

My parents make it a point to take the family to a beach resort for a honi day at least once a year. My siblings and I lookay forward to these trips as we love swimming

Last year,my father suggested that we go to a highland resort instead. When he mooted the idea to us,there were groans of disappointment from all of us. A holiday without a beach was unheard in our family. How would we spend our holiday without the beach? We would be bored to death.

Nevertheless, my father was adamant that we try something different for a change. So,reluctantly we packed out bags and made our way to Cameron Highlands. We arrived there and checked into the hotel my fathere had booked. It was a pleasant surprise to us that the hotel was very spacious and well-furnished. We were thrilled to have rooms of our own.

We visited the tea plantation, the flower nursery, the strawberry farm and so on. We also took longer walks and enjoyed the cool weather, which was pleasant change from the scorching sun in Kuala lumpur .

On the third day, we were rather sad to leave. All of us had enjoyed the break extremely.  Although it was not the holiday that we had expected, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable trips as the family had enjoyed quality time with each other. We had definitely changed out tune about the highland holidays.

What did I learn from this trip? The answer is obvious -we should not be afraid

The power of information

In this era of globalisation, many people say that money is the ultimate motivator ,that money can change out future and our life. But many people don't not that information is more important that money. Information is defined as the communication or reception of knowledge or intelligence. Power is defined as ability to do or act. Withour knowledge, we cannot have a better life and enough money. In the previous era, information is the most important. The three boys who fought the Nazis were a good example to show the importance of information. If they didn't get the information from the foreign radio stations, Germany could be still in a bad situation by now. Nowadays, people get information thought media social, newspaper radio and TV. Information can also boarden our horizon. We could be very stupid without information. For example, the German thought Hitler was a saviour and a hero of Germany because they cannot get information from the foreign radio boardcasts. In a nutshell, information can gain our knowledge and bring a peaceful life for us.

How did I feel when I received my pt3 result

It was only one month to go before the release of the results.I may have taken the examination a month ago,but the feelings of insecurity and anxiety had not diminished with time. After the examination,i had initially felt relieved that it was all over and even told myself that i had done my best.

But that excitement soon disappeared as i began to reflect on my performance during the examination.I began to berate myself for not having started the revision earlier as I thought about all the mistakes that I had made in the examination. In my mind, I kept replaying the examination and seeing the mistakes that I had done. All this time, I was tormented by such despair and regret.

Of course, there was also times when I was more positive and felt that i had actually done well.I would think of all the right answers that I had given, especially those that were harder than others.

On the day when the results were to be released, I made my way to school with anxiety.I felt nervous and emotional because my mind is full of sadness and hopelessness. My hands were shaking and I can feel the perspiration dripping from my forehead.

Finally, I made it to school without any mishap. My friends were all in the raflesia room, waiting anxiously for their turn to receive their result slips.I stood in the queue and saw my friends either screaming with joy when they saw their result,or slinking away in shock and shame when it was not good. I could feel my heart beating faster as the queue shortened to bring me closer to the front.

Just before me was Brandon. When he saw his result slip, he was so excited because he got 5As for pt3 examination.I began to feel my heart sinking. I trembled with fear as the teacher handed me my result slip.I took the slip . I felt sad because I got 4As for pt3. From that beginning, I had change my mind.I will be more handworking and diligent in the upcoming year.
